a sweet history
The Original Chocolatier
It all began with my grandfather and the pursuit of owning his very own candy store. His dream became a reality when he purchased a small shop, downtown. He grew that small shop into fourteen locations throughout the city of Pittsburgh. He took traditional boxed candies to the next level, and even managed to create a few treats of his own. As the years progressed, Belmar Candies became a household name to locals.
Meet the Candy Makers
The legacy of those delicious candies carried on years later when my parents began Victoria’s Fudge-a-licious Chocolates & Candies. They were able to take my grandfather’s recipes and recreate some favorites, even adding a few new creations to the mix. And even sweeter? I will be collaborating with them on all of choc-go-latier’s one-of-a-kind treats!
my sweet story
One thing I can’t deny is that chocolate is a part of me! I am so excited to take a piece of my family history, and add my own creative spin, to begin a new Pittsburgh tradition.
I’ve had a dream of going “mobile” for sometime (vision board and all). It wasn’t until a small step away from my everyday job, that I had the time to really sink my teeth in and figure out a way. With a lot of research, a little wine (okay, maybe a lot of wine), and obviously some chocolate, I was able to bring '“Maxine” to life.
She is the product of everything I am passionate about; getting creative, bringing together loved ones, making moments, and always finding a way to add in a little something sweet. I am able to take all that I know and love about my career in visual merchandising, and my legacy as a chocolatier, to create the sweetest renovated horse trailer this side of ‘tahn!
